  15. These monthly calendar events you post are so fun! Thank you for doing this!

August has always been my favorite month of the entire year! It is that last sweet lingering month of Summer that always ushers in the beginning of Fall with the changing of the leaves, cooler weather and bountiful harvests from the garden.

August 21st is my birthday, and it was so fun to read that Christopher Robin's birthday is the same day!

While I love the Summer months (living in northern MN) every warm day is a treasure... August has always felt like a transition month, ushering in the more predictable and orderly months of the year...

For me, August symbolizes transitions - heading into new beginnings, the more orderly months of Fall, school, predictable routines, preparations for the holidays, etc.

This year August is going to be very special for me. The closing of the family cabin where I have lived for years. My long awaited appointment at the Mayo clinic with hopes they can find better ways to treat my medical disability so the daily quality of my life might improve! And the excitement of finding a new home where I can create a dedicated art studio...

The list goes on - but I think I have shared enough for you to know how special August is for me.

Happy Anniversary for you and your husband! My parent's anniversary was also in August.

I can't thank you enough for sharing your art with us! Your blog is my favorite and it is the first blog I check out when I get up in the mornings.

  16. My favourite day is August 31, a bittersweet day. August 31 is my birthday, forever entwined with Princess Diana's death. :( But the yin to the yang is that I can eat outside (a favourite pastime).

  17. Happy Anniversary!
My favorite day is "back to school" for our kids Aug. 17th! I love having them home all summer but we are ready for a change : )

  18. August is the busiest of all the Summer months for me! Between myself & my dh, we have 14 b-days on August 29th! August 10th is my daughter's b-day and we always try to be together that day!

From the observations you've listed there are some great ones there too!
    1. Nat'l Peach Month - my favorite fruit!
    2. Children's Good Manners Month - a must have in my mind! My daughter has always had good manners & made sure her girls do too.
    3. I LOVE Week 2! All of it!!!!
    4. August 17th - Thrift Shop Day! It just can't get any better than that either!

Happy 25th Anniversary to you & your DH!! That's awesome!! Enjoy!

Thanks Roni for bringing this to us!! You're the best in blogworld!

  19. This is great! Some of the stuff is way out there to me, but I'm sure some one some where anticipates each special day. We gotta love that August is American Artist Appreciation Month! And National Ice Cream Sandwich Day should be a legal holiday! Does National Underwear Day get celebrated by showing off your underwear or going without altogether? lol Maybe they can also utilize Blame Someone Else Day a few days after! There are so many good fun August Days, but the National Park Day is tops on my list. I love our parks and I'm always glad to see people out enjoying them!

August 17 * National Thrift Shop Day ~ So cool! There's a day for that too? Well then, me & my mum go each month, this time maybe on this specific day! :)

    August 29 * Mary Poppins Day (1964)

So the 8th and 24th are special. the last Sunday in August is a family reunion,I get to see cousins I only see maybe once a year and to reminisce about grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts and past relatives gone but not forgotten.
