  1. I often make cards, and especially like to make them for my grandchildren. I recently made a card from a scanned photo of a baby sitting in a cart pulled by a goat! This photo was from the early 1900's, in sepia. I added a few embellishment in Photoshop (a sun ray, a tiara, etc.) and then attached the photo to cream card stock, and added a tiny rhinestone to the tiara and on the goat's forehead! In photoshop, I added the words "Happy BIrthday Princess". I sent it to one of my granddaughters!

  2. The last cards I made, this past week, are Christmas cards to be mailed at Christmas to family and friends. They have a funky mod Christmas tree with a small deer and small text that says 'season of wonder'...with snowflakes falling.

  7. I make cards all the time, for every occassion. The last one I made was for my cousin's wedding. I chose black and cream papers and used letter stamps and stamped Mr. & Mrs. all over the card and on the inside used a stamp that said "Happily Ever After". The card I made before that was for my daughter-in-law's graduation from college. Then there were the birthday cards of all my family members. And I make all my own Christmas cards too!

A fellow Cadet of my son died this week. I cannot imagine what his family is going through right now, but our Parent's club and many throughout the nation will be reaching out to them as they lay their awesome son to rest this week. Our son is out of the country right now and will miss his friend's funeral..doubly sad here for sure. I need to think about something else for a while as we all feel so awful as well as helpless. We just pray his family can get thru this week and treasure every memory they have. xo cher

  24. I love making cards. This weekend I made 2 wedding cards for the children of my friends. The 2 cards were very different and reflected the couple's style. One couple very earthy and with less glammor. The other couple more sparkle and pearls and lace. It was fun trying to complement their personlities.

  34. The last cards I made were about a month or so ago and they were my upcoming Christmas cards. I gave myself a challenge to use non traditional Christmas colors and I did it! They are purple and teal and pink and blues. I love them! Oh wait I then made a card for my mom congratulating her on her recent weight loss with a beautiful whimsical humming bird stamp on an alcohol inked background.

  35. My last card made was a sympathy card for the moderator of one of my Yahoo groups who lost her mother after a terrible battle with cancer. The one before was a card for my son in Australia -- a much happier one to do. Your list of giveaway items reminded me to ask a question about the Inkessentials white pen -- do you have any tips for using this pen? I can never seem to get a nice white solid line -- it usually looks like the ink is only on the sides of the line and nothing/very little in the middle.

  40. I made a few cards this weekend but not for anyone in particular. I recently acquired some prismacolour pencils and gamsol so I have been trying my hand with the colouring/blending technique. I actually managed a few images that looked decent so decided they deserved to become cards! Just fun little "have a wonderful day" cards. I think I will send the first to a friend a haven't seen in a while…so much nicer than the usual e-mail.

  51. I always make my cards. The last card I made was for my brother who turned "40" this year.

I used a picture of us as kids and he had ponytails all over his head (thats what ya get for having an older sister who can bully you). Needless to say he was laughing so hard his family had to come running to see what was up.

Thanks for the chance to win such a fabulous gift bag!

  56. I make cards all the time! I donate them in bundles of 4 to the Jervasic Cancer Centre in Hamilton, ON. My friend is receiving treatment for ovarian cancer there. The volunteers are wonderful people, and turn out dozens of hats, headscarves, shawls, etc. Well, I can knit, but you'll get awfully cold waiting for my hats, so, I make cards. I figure the patients can get a few of the many thank you cards they need to write done while they are waiting for their treatment. I left 50 bags of 4 cards with them the last time I went, and they were all gone by the next day!

  57. The last time I created a card, I actually created 21 of the same card. I volunteer at the Ridgeview Seniors Home in my area. Many of these ladies and gentlemen cannot function at full capacity, and so I almost completely make the card for them. All I help them do there is tape the pieces together and stamp a greeting on...and that takes a full hour for about 10 people at a time. Of course I have one or two of the cards completely finished so they can see how they look. Lots of fun!!

  64. I make cards constantly. I am a Cricut Card Fairy I don't know if you know what that is, but on cricut.com people send in missions those are requests for cards for someone they know that is ill, birthdays, sympathy, encouragement those kinds of things. Then the Cricut Card Fairies all over the world send these complete strangers a card. It is an awesome ministry for me, I love to make cards and I love to encourage people so it fits me perfectly. I do swaps all the time too, so currently I am working on cards for a swap I am hosting on Cricut.com. I finished one last night.

  70. The last cards I made were for the soldiers serving overseas. I send them to Operation Write Home and they send them to soldiers or their families who request them for their units. The majority were Missing You, Love You, Thank You and Thanksgiving cards, but I always throw in some cards for the kids of the soldiers. My daughter is a MP who was stationed in Iraq, so I know how much this means to the soldiers to have something nice to send home.

  73. I just finished making a birthday card for a dear Aunt in England.
I used distress inks on embossed paper, I added a bullrush see through sticker to the embossed paper after it was distressed, then I stamped a dragonfly , cut it out from separate cardstock then used my blending tool to lightly colour the dragonfly. I then added some Rock Candy crackle paint to the dragonfly let it dry. The card looks a little masculine in colour but I really love how the dragonfly and the embossing offered visual textures and interest.
Oh and I love your blog, I learn a lot from you and please enter me to win some blog candy.
    Thanks so much.
